On August 8, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee issued Document 4519/KH-UBND regarding the plan to organize the 2^nd Green Growth Show in 2024 (GRECO 2024) within the framework of the 5th Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum. Below is key information from this plan.

Purpose of GRECO 2024

• To introduce and promote green growth products and services from Vietnam and other countries, focusing on products and services in high-tech industries, transformative industries based on the application of science and technology, industrial park and cluster model transformations, digital transformation, green transformation, new energy, and transformative energy. Through this, GRECO 2024 aims to raise awareness among the public and businesses in the city about green economic development and the circular economy, with a focus on sustainable development.
• To promote the adoption of a green lifestyle, combined with traditional values, to create a high-quality life in harmony with nature. It also aims to guide the development of a model smart city with green, sustainable growth and foster a culture of sustainable consumption within the global integration context.
• To advocate for the importance of green growth as a key method for achieving sustainable development, directly contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and working towards a carbon-neutral economy in the long term.
• To support and create opportunities for city enterprises, especially small and medium-sized businesses, to exchange and interact with leading domestic and international enterprises in building a green production ecosystem. This includes applying a circular economic model by efficiently using natural resources and energy through the application of science and technology, digital technology, and digital transformation. The ultimate goal is to enhance competitiveness and reduce environmental impacts.
• To support city enterprises in upgrading and striving for the title of Green Enterprise of Ho Chi Minh City, increasing opportunities to promote green growth products and services. The event will motivate and encourage businesses to adopt green, circular production models, implement innovation and digital transformation, and apply advanced science and technology in their production and business activities.

Organizer, Time, and Location of GRECO 2024

The organization of the Green Growth Show is hosted by Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. The implementing unit is Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC). The coordinating units include the City Business Association, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Transport, the Department of Tourism, the Department of Construction, the City High-Tech Park Management Board, Ho Chi Minh City National University, the City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Management Board, the High-Tech Agricultural Zone Management Board, the State Bank of Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Branch, associations of domestic and foreign enterprises, along with related departments, branches, sectors, and units.

GRECO 2024 will be held from September 21 to 25, 2024, on Nguyen Hue Street (from the Nguyen Hue – Le Loi intersection to Ton Duc Thang Street) and Le Loi Street (main road area for cars, from the Nguyen Hue – Le Loi intersection to Phan Boi Chau Street) in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

  Introducing green technology, renewable energy, and environmental treatment solutions for industrial transformation, featuring processes and equipment from domestic and international enterprises.
